In this short guide, I will show you how to link Google Analytics with your Google Webmaster Tools.
Steps to be followed:
Go to Google Analytics – Admin tab – Property Settings
Assuming that you’ve already set up your Google Analytics account, head on to the Admin tab.
Three columns will be displayed on this Admin screen as shown in the screenshot above.
Now, select the ‘Property settings’ from the middle column for the corresponding property which was created at the time of creating your Analytics account.
Once you are in the Property settings page, ensure the URL shown is correct and the default view is ‘All website data’
Under Advanced settings, select the options you want to enable (advertiser features, demographics, in-page analytics) and scroll down to ‘Webmaster Tools Settings’ section.
Here if you see a blank ‘Edit’ hyperlink, click on that to go to Webmaster tools page to add the website data that you want to link to the Analytics property.
This will take care of the linking process of your website to the powerful and free Google Analytics.
Under Reporting tab of Google Analytics, you can now view the data related to your traffic, SEO, keywords, sources, referrals, etc.
Hope this helped! I will keep updating this post with more useful resources and links. Please bookmark this page and return to it if you have any questions, you can also leave your comments if you get any questions while setting this up.
