Do you know the most important part of learning?
The place where new ideas thrive. I follow this secret advice that I received some years ago from one of my wise blogger friends and have always benefitted learning many new things out of this exercise.
I remember seeing the movie ‘Meet the Robinsons’ animated movie where the lead character, a scientist, says ‘keep moving forward’. He learns it the hard way by ‘seeing the need and filling the need’.
But how do we see what the need is? and how do we find it?
There is a place rich with resources and where new ideas are generated easily, they are just hidden in plain sight and is only visible to a person who is looking for it.
We all know that people are everything – all that we do is for someone else. We also get ideas while observing and talking to others on what they really want. Sometimes it could be that the others don’t yet know what they want but you can see that need and fill it.
That secret place is the ‘comments section’ of any popular blog post.
For e.g. observe any technology forums or blogs and see what everyone comments or talks about. Since everyone is a real-world person talking out their problems, views, opinions, there you can get a rich tank full of useful resources and ideas. You get to read about new people, check their websites (as sometimes you can click on their profile picture or name and it takes you to their blog), new tools and also new ideas to make a new tool.
Plethora of information all from a single blog post and its related comments – especially if that post itself is a thought provoking one.
It’s like sitting and watching a group of people with similar interests talking about it.
A word of caution – you will see all ranges of people discussing in the comments section – from newbies to experts. So please exercise caution before accepting their comments, thoughts and opinions as facts.
